On July 29, 2025, the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) held a modelling information session for the restructured energy market (REM) focusing on the implementation of locational marginal pricing (LMP) to address transmission congestion issues within the market. The AESO then released its REM Final Design report in August of 2025.
