Decision Regarding Fortis’s Exit Charges Applied to Consumers Switching to EQUS

In Alberta Utility Commission (AUC) proceeding 26668, the AUC decides whether the exit charges FortisAlberta Inc. (Fortis) levied on consumers wanting to change their service provider to EQUS REA Ltd. (EQUS) are reasonable considering Fortis and EQUS’s Integrated Operation Agreement (IOA) and Fortis’s Terms and Conditions (T&Cs).

The Commission to Hear EQUS’s Request for Declaratory Relief regarding Fortis’s Exit Charges

The Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission) decides whether to grant FortisAlberta Inc. (Fortis)’s motion to dismiss EQUS REA LTD. (EQUS)’s application for declaratory relief regarding exit charges levied by Fortis to two consumers. The Commission also decides whether to allow the Consumers’ Coalition of Alberta (CCA) and Rocky Rural Electrification Association Limited (Rocky REA) to participate in this proceeding (#26668).

Decision on EQUS Complaint Over Fortis Option M

The AUC has issued decision 22293-D01-2017 on EQUS REA’s application to have FortisAlberta’s Terms & Conditions altered such that EQUS Distributed Generation (DGen) customers on the EQUS system are eligible for Fortis’s option M rate.
