ATCO Electric’s DTA Phase II Reply Arguments

In July 2019, ATCO Electric Ltd. (AE) submitted its Phase II Distribution Tariff Application (the Application) to the Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission).  The interveners in the proceeding (ID 24747) are the Alberta Federation of Rural Electrification Associations (AFREA), Altalink Management Ltd. (AML), the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSia), the Consumers Coalition of Alberta (CCA), Conoco Canada (Conoco), the Canada West Ski Areas Association (CWSAA), the Industrial Power Consumers Association of Alberta (IPCAA), and the Utilities Consumer Advocate (UCA). The arguments and reply arguments have now been submitted.

AUC Initiatives and Approach to Reduce Regulatory Burden

The Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission) has indicated its intent to further improve regulatory efficiency and reduce regulatory burden as part of its efficiency agenda.[1] In a round-table with industry stakeholders (i.e. utilities, consumer advocates, government etc.) the Commission discussed current processes and initiatives and what future regulatory approaches should look like.
