In October of 2014, the AESO submitted its 2014 ISO Tariff compliance filing as per Decision 2014-242. After initial information requests, the Commission split the proceeding into two modules so as to allow for further testing of the AESO’s compliance with Commission Directions 5-8.

On April 30, 2015, only 6 weeks after the 2013 Generic Cost of Capital decision (applying to 2013, 2014 and 2015), the Alberta Utilities Commission issued a letter initiating the 2016 GCOC proceeding, and requesting feedback regarding the scope of the hearing and approaches to the application process. The Alberta Utilities shortly thereafter issued a response proposing an alternate approach to the 2016 GCOC.

The AltaLink 2015-16 General Rate Application was submitted on November 18, 2014. In this application, AltaLink is requesting approval of 2015 and 2016 revenue requirements of $810.5M and $1,001.6M respectively. Additionally, AltaLink is seeking approval for the settlement of $4.9M of Self-insurance Reserve Costs related to repairs on assets damaged during the flood and from grassfires.
