In Proceeding 26510, Capital Power Corporation (Capital Power) presents the Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission) a complaint against FortisAlberta Inc. (Fortis) regarding additional charges associated to the interconnection of Capital Power’s Strathmore Solar Project (the Strathmore Project).
In Proceeding 26509, AltaLink Management Ltd. (AltaLink) is applying to the Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission) of the 2022-2023 General Tariff Agreement (GTA) for AltaLink, L.P. (ALP), PiikaniLink, L.P. (PLP), and KainaiLink, L.P. (KLP), as well as a Deferral Accounts Reconciliation Application for ALP. The Alberta Utilities Commission issued rulings on several motions put forward by the Consumers’ Coalition of Alberta (CCA), the Utilities Consumer Advocate (UCA), and the Industrial Power Consumers Association of Alberta (IPCAA).
On June 23, 2021, the Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission) made a decision regarding the 2019-2021 General Tariff Application (GTA) application of TransAlta Corporation (TransAlta) in Proceeding 26436. Within this decision, the Commission was satisfied most of the application and only directed TransAlta to make a significant adjustment regarding their escalation rate for non-union salary, contractor, and general inflation for 2021.
On April 23, the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) released Decision 26061-D01-2021 on the “Commission-Directed Examination of Distribution Facility Owner Payments under the Independent System Operator Tariff Customer Contribution Policy.” Initiated in January, this generic, policy-oriented decision considers transmission contributions paid to the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) by a distribution utility. Proceeding 24110, the 2021 Generic Cost of Capital (GCOC) Proceeding, stalled in March due to the uncertainty and disruption caused by the COVID-19 virus. On April 23, 2020, the Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission) opened a dialogue on the possibility of resuming the proceeding and requested submissions from participants in the proceeding.
On March 5, 2020 the Commission provided a ruling and closure letter on AltaLink’s request for a generic proceeding into distribution planning criteria.
Preliminary submissions on the generic proceeding on distribution planning criteria were posted to the AUC website on January 17, 2020.
The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) submits rebuttal evidence to the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) regarding its 2018 General Tariff Application (GTA) in Proceeding 22942.
On August 17, 2018, the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) filed an amendment to its 2018 Independent System Operator (ISO) tariff application in Proceeding 22942.
