AltaLink Requests a Generic Distribution Planning Criteria Inquiry

AltaLink Management Ltd. (AltaLink) has applied to the Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission) requesting for the initiation of a generic proceeding to review distribution system planning criteria. In Proceeding 25188, the Commission will review the submission by AltaLink as well as any registered participants and decide on whether it is necessary to hold such an inquiry[1].

AUC Decides Against Ordering Fortis to Mirror REA Rate Class Charges

The Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) denies EQUS REA Ltd.’s (EQUS) interim relief application (Proceeding 23819) to direct FortisAlberta Inc. (Fortis) to mirror, apply, and calculate charges to new REA rate classes based on the transmission component set out in existing Fortis rate classes.

AESO 2018 ISO Tariff Application

The Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) directed the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) to suspend the application of Information Document 2018-019T (ID) regarding the determination of Rate STS (supply transmission services), Rate DTS (demand transmission services), and metering levels for distribution system connected generation. The Commission determined that the ID should be tested in the AESO 2018 Independent System Operator (ISO) tariff application proceeding (22942) before requiring parties to implement the change.
