AltaLink Requests Approval for New Net Salvage Method in 2019 – 2021 GTA

AltaLink Requests a Generic Distribution Planning Criteria Inquiry

AltaLink Management Ltd. (AltaLink) has applied to the Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission) requesting for the initiation of a generic proceeding to review distribution system planning criteria. In Proceeding 25188, the Commission will review the submission by AltaLink as well as any registered participants and decide on whether it is necessary to hold such an inquiry[1].

MSA and the Balancing Pool Revised Settlement Agreement on the Termination of PPAs

The Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission) reviewed the Market Surveillance Administrator’s (MSA) application for approval of a settlement agreement pertaining to the termination of power purchase arrangements (PPAs) between the MSA and the Balancing Pool of Alberta (BP). In the proceeding, the Commission released a decision in part through Decision 23828-D01-2019 [1]where they referred the settlement back to the MSA and BPA and advised that the settlement be revised to address concerns that the Commission had.

Village of Wabamun – Tan Complaint Regarding Discriminatory Utility Rates

The Alberta Utilities Commission (the Commission) received a formal complaint from Mr. Teik Tan advancing the argument that the water utility rates and charges administered by the Village of Wabamun (Wabamun) are illogical and discriminatory. Mr. Tan has filed an appeal to the Commission pursuant to Section 43 of the Municipal Government Act which allows for any individual who is receiving or paying for utility services to appeal a charge or rate to the Commission.
