The Commission has denied AltaLink’s R&V request (Decision 27246-D01-2022) to refund $120 million in surplus accumulated depreciation to utility customers.
In Proceeding 26617, ENMAX Power Corporation (“ENMAX”) submits its negotiated settlement agreement (“NSA”) with the Utilities Consumer Advocate (“UCA”) pertaining to its 2023 Distribution Cost of Service Review Application (the “Application”) to the Alberta Utilities Commission (the “Commission” or “AUC”).
In proceeding 27161, the Alberta Utilities Commission reached its conclusion regarding Solartility Inc.’s (Solartility) micro-generator customers’ requests for approval against ENMAX Power Corporation (EPC).
In the Alberta Utilities Commission Proceeding 26911, the Alberta Electric System Operator (“AESO”) issued its rebuttal evidence in response to the intervenor evidence that generally opposes the AESO’s proposed Bulk and Regional Rate Design and Modernized DOS Application.
In Proceeding 27047, the Alberta Utilities Commission (“the Commission”) issues its decision regarding the adjusted metering practice (“AMP”) implementation plan that was proposed by the Alberta Electric System Operator (“AESO”).

ATCO and Fortis defended their proposals against the claims and concerns of consumer groups; Consumer Coalition of Alberta (CCA), Utilities Consumer Advocate (UCA) and The Industrial Power Consumers Association of Alberta (IPCAA).
The AESO, as well as various distribution connected generators have submitted argument and reply argument as part of the AUC hearing (proceeding 27047) on the AESO’s Adjusted Metering Practice (AMP) implementation plan.
The Court of Appeal of Alberta has decided[1] to allow an application for an appeal of AUC Decision 26090-D01-2021. In this decision, the AUC decided that distribution tariff credits for DCGs (distribution connected generators) should be phased out.
In Proceeding 26649, the Alberta Utilities Commission (“the Commission”) issues its decision regarding a complaint raised by Melcor Developments Ltd., Highview Communities Inc., and Sunset Properties Inc., (“the Melcor Entities”) opposing the updated design standards of FortisAlberta Inc. (“FortisAlberta”).
Responses have been submitted to the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC)’s hydrogen inquiry. The hydrogen inquiry is broadly aimed at gathering information on the technical requirements and economic viability of blending hydrogen in natural gas distribution systems.
