On January 19, 2018 the AUC issued a letter suspending the 2018 AESO Tariff proceeding until the AESO is able to file a revised application that includes evidence and analysis related to the CP12 (coincident peak) method for allocation and recovery of bulk system costs.

AESO Line Loss Rule – Module C Decision

The AUC has issued a decision on Module C (Decision 790-D06-2017) in the AESO Line Loss Rule hearing.  In this decision, the Commission approves a methodology for calculating final loss factors for January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2016.

On November 17, 2017 the DOE hosted a second stakeholder consultation session on overarching policy decisions that will guide the capacity market design. The first, on resource adequacy, took place on October 27, 2017 and the final session on cost allocation will take place sometime in mid-December.

Request to Review & Vary the HTR Decision

TransAlta and TransCanada have both submitted a request to review and vary (R&V) Decision 21115-D01-2017 in which the AUC found the Historical Trading Report is contrary to market efficiency, and directed the AESO to cease publishing.
