In Proceeding 27562, Direct Energy Regulated Services (“Direct Energy”) and the Utilities Consumer Advocate (“UCA”) present their arguments before the Alberta Utilities Commission (the “Commission”) that address Direct Energy’s load forecasting methodology, seasonal multipliers, energy return margin (“ERM”), and the expiry date of its energy price setting plan (“EPSP”) application.
In proceeding 26615 the Alberta Utilities Commission (the “Commission”) issues its decision regarding the cost-of service reviews proposed by ATCO Electric Ltd. (“ATCO”) and FortisAlberta Inc. (“Fortis”) in preparation for the third term of performance-based regulation (“PBR”).
In Alberta Utility Commission (AUC) proceeding 27084, the AUC initiates a Generic Cost of Capital (GCOC) proceeding that determines a fair return on equity (ROE) and debt-to-equity ratio for 2023. The AUC also proposes moving to a formula based GCOC for 2024.
On December 4, 2018 the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) initiated the 2021 generic cost of capital and is considering whether it should return to a formula-based approach for calculating return on equity (ROE) starting the year of 2021.
Final reply arguments in the 2018 GCOC proceeding were submitted in mid-May.
